Dow Raku Projects
Theatre group Dow Raku Projects was formed by brothers Mark and Dan Leahy in 1989. Its' goal was to bring exciting experimental theater to South Florida audiences. Since its' inception , Dow Raku has created some of the most memorable theatrical and performance art events the area has seen.
List of productions in New York City include: Fish Godda Sing (Off-Center Theatre, NYC), Small Town Girl (film: NYC Collective For The Living Cinema), I Am The Gift (The Healing Circle; NYC AIDS Support Group), and Homeward Bound (video: New York Coalition For The Homeless).Stage productions in South Florida include Max Frisch's The Firebugs and Ioenesco's Frenzy For Two.
Original theatrical/multi-media works include: Ruth Among The Rushes (1991); Resurrection Ball '93 (1992); Little Star,Little Island (1994); Elemental (1994); 1,000 Cranes (1995); discovering Zero (2001) and Starry Night (2000-2004).
The Leahy brothers have a list of stage design to their credit,including The Nijinsky Project for The Demetrius Klein Dance Co.
MARK LEAHY received his B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Florida State University, has extensive directing credit in Florida and design credits in New York, Chicago and Florida. DAN LEAHY'S studies in art, photography, theatre design and film have taken him from West Palm Beach to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
Available through Lantern are the story and script for the charming and successful childrens' musical , Little Star, Island , produced in conjunction with Artstage, Inc.
